The Doctors at Eastside Pet Clinic

Dr. Shaun Merchant

Dr. Shaun Merchant

Dr. Shaun Merchant has 19 years of experience as a veterinarian. He is always continuing his education and has a special interest in orthopedic surgery. 

Dr. Merchant graduated from Oregon State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1998 and was a member of Phi Zeta, the honor society of Veterinary Medicine.

He completed his doctorate at Oregon State but had to spend 20 months at Washington State University in Pullman. He has degrees from Oregon State and Washington State.

Dr. Merchant has spent his entire career at Eastside Pet Clinic. Hired by Dr. Moe in 1998, he became a partner in 2001 and purchased the remaining share of the practice in 2006.

Outside of work, Dr. Merchant enjoys photography and riding motorcycles. He has five children and one grandchild. His wife is Cindie, and they have two dogs and two cats.
Dr. Nicole Seda

Dr. Nicole Seda

Dr. Nicole Seda is from the northern suburbs of Chicago. She received her Bachelor's degree and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Iowa State University.

After graduation, Dr. Seda joined the team at Eastside Pet Clinic and has remained here ever since.

Her special interests include exotic veterinary medicine, internal medicine, and soft tissue surgery. She is also a relief veterinarian for the Tautphaus Park Zoo.

Outside of work, Dr. Seda's hobbies include enjoying the great outdoors, hiking, reading, and art.

Dr. Seda and her fiancé have two dogs and a lizard.
Dr. Melissa Gray

Dr. Melissa Gray

Dr. Gray was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio. Working and volunteering in veterinary clinics through high school and college, she has always had a passion for animals.

She received a B.S. degree in wildlife and fisheries management from Ohio State University and continued in that field, earning a M.S. degree in fisheries science from Louisiana State University.

After moving to Louisiana, Dr. Gray began volunteering with local small animal rescues. She quickly decided to focus her career back to veterinary medicine, applying to veterinary school while finishing her Master’s degree.

Dr. Gray graduated with a DVM from Louisiana State University in 2015. She is interested in all aspects of small animal medicine, particularly internal medicine and rehabilitation.

With her husband, Jacob, she moved to Idaho shortly after graduating to experience all the outdoor adventures Idaho has to offer. Jacob and Melissa live with their 3 dogs, 1 cat, and many chickens in Rigby.
